2009

As an artist, I look for images to paint that speak to my heart and, hopefully, to the hearts of others. This image of great grandfather, Alexei, watching over his great granddaughter, Ira, as she reads the Holy Scriptures under his guidance and attentive ear did exactly that. They are generations apart and yet both students of the Living Word. My hope is that this image will encourage and motivate many grandfathers (and grandmothers) to continue to pass on the precious Word of God to the generations in their households, and even beyond their family circle. How valuable these saints are. God has stored His truth and His promises up in their hearts over their lifetimes and by His Grace and His Mercy will keep them and use them, pending their call home. Until then, there is still a lot of work to be done. Many need to hear, and many need to listen. May the Lord bless those of the older generation who are still about their Father’s business!

“Let each generation tell its children of Your mighty Acts.”
Psalm 145

Kim painting "About His Father's Business"

I would like to share with you the other reason for painting “About His Father’s Business”. Since hearing of the need for a home for orphan girls, and for the necessary funds to purchase an available property in Budapest, Hungary, my heart was burdened for these children and this need. When I saw the photograph, I was inspired to paint this image of Ira and Alexei, to be especially used to provide funds for the purchase and upkeep of the Hungarian Girls’ Orphanage.

Proposed Home for the Orphan Girls

I have made available the original painting, as well as Limited Edition Giclees, Signed Prints, and Art Cards as gifts to raise funds for the “Hungarian Girls” Orphanage”. Please e-mail me at kim@countrylanegallery.com if you would like more information on how to be a part of providing a lifeline of hope and a loving home for these children, where they will hear the message of Christ.

I trust you will enjoy browsing our website. I look forward to hearing from you!
